About Birmingham Branch ASCE

We are a local branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers.  Our members are civil engineering professionals, students, and affiliates who live and work in the geographical area that encompasses Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Walker, Talledega, Calhoun, Cullman and Blount Counties in Alabama.  The Birmingham Branch is one of six branches in Alabama that helps to serve its members in cooperation with the Alabama Section and the national organization of ASCE.

Mission of the Branch:  For the greater Birmingham area, provide value to members, promote the profession of civil engineering, and serve the public good by:  bringing attention to the services provided by civil engineers, reaching out to area students to encourage interest in a civil engineering career, and educating members and the public about the state of the infrastructure and sustainable practices.

We do this by providing educational programs, networking and professional development opportunities, and outreach activities in and around Birmingham.  The Branch typically meets once a month and regularly publishes a newsletter with up to date new and events.  To find out more information about how you can get involved and what is happening within the Branch, please check out our membership page and subscribe to our monthly newsletter now!
